The color is anodized Silver Use of this item requires some experience and technical skills. This headset should be installed by an experienced bicycle mechanic. This is a conversion headset for vintage Schwinn frames made from 1950 to 1980. It is machined to fit what is known as a 1” steer tube, actual machined diameter of the headset is 32.7 mm, or 1.287”. This will allow a normal press fit, and matches the original size Schwinn steel cup dimensions. This is a modern sealed bearing headset. The bearings are a standard size and everything is here, including the crown race, star nut, and top cap. Please note this will not fit modern road bikes, which use a smaller size, always measure first. The conversion headset is perfect for your Rat Rod, Klunker, BMX, or Cruiser. When you convert your old Schwinn to 1 1/8" threadless, you can use all kinds of modern forks, stems, and handlebars. This can be a big improvement in function and style. Installation requires a headset press. There are no returns for parts which have been installed.
